Have an idea for an amazing, new, or revolutionary product but don’t know quite where to start? Think the prospect of obtaining a patent is too cumbersome or expensive? Author Janessa Castle lays down the road to success in her book, “Your Complete Guide to Making Millions with Your Simple Idea or Invention: Insider Secrets You Need to Know”.
“Your Complete Guide to Making Millions with Your Simple Idea or Invention” is a map through the confusing and convoluted fog of steps needed to take your idea from ‘brainstorm’ to ‘paycheck’ while sidestepping the typical mistakes many make in this process. Castle takes the dreadfully dry subject of patent application and puts it in easy to understand stages, making the overall process much clearer and straightforward. She offers pros and cons to patenting, hiring various types of professional help, using non disclosure agreements, and much, much more. Further, she gives alternatives to patenting, such as licensing and copyrights, so the reader can decide on their individual situation’s best course of action. The book’s appendix is chock full of valuable information, including examples of essential legal documents, fee schedules, application examples, inventors’ organizations, and even an invention checklist.
The only small editing issue I saw was on page 106 when the subject of registering was discussed. The corresponding registration symbol, ® was typed so small that it could not be read without looking closely and squinting. Conversely, the copyright section on page 118 and corresponding © was much larger, making it easy to read. Other than this issue, I found the editing to be exceptionally high quality.
