This practical guide contains dozens of suggestions on how an average person with limited time and money can help people in need. An experienced community outreach activist in Denver, the author has an "on the ground" feel for what the homeless, low-income seniors, victims of domestic violence, and other struggling populations really need, and how shelters and social service organizations work. At the end, a "Make a Difference" Plan allows readers to customize options for their own outreach, based on their own talents, interests, available time, etc. The author stresses throughout that it doesn't take much to make a substantial difference in someone's life.
