This book is a compilation of stories by pioneers themselves in 1892-93. The local newspaper asked for people to submit their stories regarding the settlement of Washington and Oregon. The winner would be rewarded with a free trip to the World's Expo in Chicago. Obviously their adventures, trials and life was imprinted on the brain as most had great recall and included names of those involved.
It doesn't flow really well, but keep in mind it is the remembrances of elderly people, most, if not all, are not professional writers.
