While not being all bad, this just was not that good. For one, there was not very much of the title weapon in this. That being the Springblade. Another is that the author, Greg Walker, was a former special forces sergeant. You can really tell by the way he writes. Everything is military lingo. Sometimes he explains, sometimes not. This gave me the feeling that he was writing to the converted. By that I mean fellow service men. All I got out of it was the feeling that I was Gomer Pyle on my first day in the marines and having Sgt. Carter yelling "YOU KNUCKLEHEAD. MOVE IT, MOVE IT. MOVE IT."

There was some nice action in here. But the author chose to go the standard military procedure way. The ending was rather dull and very short. How this thing lasted nine books I'll never know. Well maybe I will. I got a good deal on six other books in this series. I might try to read them, or sell them down the VFW hall someday.
