"The Grabens" are a series of books set in the Mountains of the Moon in Uganda, Africa. Four young animals, a hippo, a baboon, a wart hog, and a lammergeyer, journey toward these mountains seeking adventure. Along the way, they discover a series of grabens, or deep, sheer-walled valleys. This first book takes place where some prehistoric mammals have been trapped for sixty million years.
