It's the BULLDOZER! Ready to PUSH, PUSH, PUSH away dirt and rubble! With colorful foil and fun-to-read words, this truck shaped board book will delight the youngest construction workers. Also available in My Shiny Little Truck Books series: The Digger (1581178603), The Concrete Mixer (158117859X), The Dump Truck (1581178611).
Any reasonable infant might expect that a "shiny" book would use the shine for a good purpose. For instance, when the page talks about the caterpillar tracks, the tracks would be shiny and when the text extols the its ability to break rocks, the rocks would be shiny... Most of "The Bulldozer" is driven by this kind of logical shininess. There are some misses: why is the construction man shiny when the smoothing feature is mentioned? Also, the book ends with a whimper as my attention is drawn to the shiny bricks but the narration concludes that "[bulldozers] can be found at every construction site!"
But my real beef with the book is this: not anywhere near as tasty as some of my other books! When I suck on the edges, the cardboard simply disintegrates into flavorless mush.
Gift from Aunt Christy and Uncle Gregor. Aunt Christy and Mommy were impressed that these rad books were found at the 99 cent only store. Who cares about that? Let's talk about the shiny, reflective and glittery effects in these books! They are a nice small size. Good for taking on a car ride or sitting on the potty. I love them!
