There's a massive factual error - the author confuses the daimyo and the shogun, claiming the shogun were military generals who governed shogunates, which apparently are territories that Japan was divided into. Nope - the daimyo were the military lords, and there was only one shogun, who was the military equivalent of the emperor. Shogunate was what the political system was called, not a territory. I really wish I knew how the author got so mightily confused. And this is something which actually got published as an educational book...
