Just before the unification of the Chinese empire by the first emperor Qin Shihuangdi (221-210 BCE) China is determined by the antagonism of the two culturally very different states of Qin and Chu. With the erection of the empire a time of great political but also cultural changes begins. This work examines various aspects of this change by regarding and analyzing the burial culture of the time.
