DNF — read for an Intro to Quant class. This book is pretty dated, yet this was the edition assigned for the course — which of course is no fault of the book. Regardless, I found this book to have a lot of unnecessary information and rambling in it. The writing is really poor and confusing. The author spends several pages explaining a concept, only to tell you that that particular concept or method is now obsolete and something else is used instead. The replacement method only gets about a paragraph of text. I *hope* there are better textbooks out there and if you are reading this you should probably be looking for one of those.
