The images in in this book are great. Printed in a magazine glossy paper. The book is worth it on the images alone.
I am giving 4 stars because I found the text to be so-so. There are some very interesting chapters and he covers the range of rugs but I found he skips around could have been edited better. I wanted something more specific or a fuller history of the region. This book was in-between.

The details on each rug are in the back glossary when they probably should be integrated into the text of the book.

This is a great overview of the history of war rugs, and the rugs themselves are beautiful and amazing, but I just couldn't get through the text. Too art history-y for me. Worth it for the pictures and as a collector's reference, though.
