Unfortunately for Mr. Watson, I have been spoiled by Mary Renault's The King Must Die. So this is a nice little story, plausible, but not ultimately as moving as it could be. Theseus and Piros seem too much like each other, and there's too much focus on the plot and not enough about Minoan culture, and the bull dancers specifically. But it isn't bad.
