Hundreds of flowering trees have been transplanted from around the globe, including Indian coral/bean, Mexican and Singapore plumeria, royal poinciana native to Madagascar, African tulip tree, and angel's trumpet from the Andes of South America. Others are native verdure familiar even by their Hawaiian names such as kou, mamane, ohi'a lehua, and kukui.
