I am an associate professor teaching business and management for more than ten years. I have also had an experience in stock market for almost 20 years. I have read this book and found that it is easy to understand and to follow. I like the concept that you can't really beat the market in the long term if you are a day-trader. I personally also like the idea that the sooner we invest, the better it is since we have time to accumulate wealth. Stock market in the long term yield good return.

I think that this is the book for people who are interested in investment in stock market. I strongly recommend it.

Well written and easy to read very well organized. It contains a lot of good advice for people about how to manage their money. It doesn't get much into specifics, but then the title says it's more about adjusting your thinking. This is a good starting point, but then you would have to look for follow up reading to put a specific plan in place.

The book is very well researched and the research is explained in an easy to understand manner.

In one place in the book the author says if you don't want to pick stocks then go to mutual funds. This is not good advice and later he explains in detail why you should not do this. I agree with avoiding mutual funds so why then put it forth at all as a reasonable option?

His summary at the end of each chapter is an exceptional way to capture the essence of the discussion. He does a great job at explaining complex ideas and terms.

He refers to bonds as low risk and that is the accepted wisdom. However with the current low interest environment, small swings in interest rates can produce a large variation in bond valuation and you can in fact lose on bonds.

Overall, an excellent book on learning about investing.

As a profession in the finance industry, I have witnessed many people getting rich in the stock market. However, it is still arguable whether they are getting rich by skills or by luck. I find that the thing those people have in common is that they take excessive risk – they can get rich fast but they can also get broken too. After all, those who lose in the stock market will not be talked about.
This book, on the other hand, will guide you through all the processes from the very first step of making investment to become financial independent based on realistic return target with minimal risk. The author made it very simple and easy to understand, even for someone with no finance background. This book will be perfect for everyone desired to be financial independent.

I am a student studying finance.

I was interested in this subject because I wanted to learn useful information on investment opportunities and also help in the investments class which I am currently taking. I like the way the information is always keeping me involved and the style of delivery makes me feel interested on what's coming next. I liked the basic knowledge it provides for young people to know where to invest the money and all the basic information linked with it. I recommend this for college students and parents.

I'm taking up Human Resource Development Management. I believe that the stock market, investment, saving money all of these are not just made for Accounting / Finance Students or for people who are knowledgeable about these things. Each and every one of us have the right to get engaged with the stock market but not all are blessed because of the word "Luck" or maybe because they lack the knowledge on how to handle this kind of risk. I have learned that it is very important to create a financial plan that you think you will be able to follow or use in your future. Without this everything will be a mess. You won't understand where you will put your money. It is important to have a financial plan to avoid future bankruptcy. I've never known anything about the stock market. What I know is stocks are just like the company share and you can buy those through investing in that certain company. But now I know that you can get rich through stock market. The fact is that you have to be realistic about stock market although it is not easy to expect for the returns that you have thought before investing. As a student, I’m trying now to save money so that in future i will be able to buy stocks in a particular company. There is nothing wrong with having expectations if they are realistic.

As a financial professional with a master degree in finance my friends and family often ask me about how to invest. The problem is I don’t have any simple answer to give them. I’ve sometimes recommended books to them, but so far the books have either been too advanced or easy-to-understand but not giving, in my opinion, sound advice. It usually ends up becoming too complicated and the best advice I can give them is to recommend a good financial adviser.

Now I can stop doing that, and save my friends and family some money since financial advisers aren’t always cheap. Since this book is written in easy language and is very concise I am sure even my no-financial-interest-at-all-but-want-to-be-financially-independent-friends-and-family will enjoy it.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to understand successful and long-term investing. I will give it as a x-mas gift to my nephew, cousins and friends that are under 30, since they really have the time to benefit from this straight forward and easy methodology.

Great Book for beginners in Finance

Book lays out most of the basics about investing for the purpose of personal wealth management, a little unclear at times, but the content, message and delivery overall are all intelligent, well supported and clearly explained.

I won't dwell on reviewing this book for too long because it is another book on investing for beginners which has a similar pattern and style. Adrew Stotz has his own take on the genre which is great, and you can see his style and understanding in the book, but the principles are the same.

I picked this book up simply because i had read another book he wrote concerning the Dr Deming's 14 points. I have written a review for that as well because i read these books back-to-back. That is the credit that Stotz deserves is his ability to take complex material and subject matters and then condense them into material that is readable and digestible for the general public.

I can honestly say that i will not be designing rockets at any time in my life so whatever i read needs to be attainable and engaging which is the Andrew Stotz style of writing. Pick this book up and start your investing journey because from this first step you can quite easily move onto Peter Lynch's books and then into a sustainable investing style.

I look forward to seeing what else Stotz has written and or recommends in the way of books all of which are comprehensively added in the bibliography of each of his books that i have read. Give Andrew a read and see where he takes you as part of your business literary journey.

Absolutely engaging and impactful delivery.

Easy to understand. I think the author successfully cut through all the noise around the subject matter and delivered just what is needed to be successful in the stock market.
