Our daughter of 21 months loves this book. It covers some special things that happen on children's birthdays, and the lift the flap element adds some interaction to reading it to her.

Reviews of these books probably depends a lot on whether you like the style of illustration. I believe the author's aim is to represent events and experiences that children may encounter in real life, and so for me, it does that nicely.
