This volume reproduces every one of Paul Klee's works in the collection at the Guggenheim Museum. Kagan's text weaves biographical information and stylistic analyses of these particular works into the full range of Klee's career which intersected with the German Bauhaus and the Blaue Reiter Group.
4 stars for the introduction and 2 for the plates. While not a fan of the artist's work, I have a much better understanding of his style, how it developed and why it is considered important.
