Overland To India - One Step Beyond: The Madness Travels of the Dewhirst Family
In the year 2000 we set off from England to drive to India with our three young children. We travelled through France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Iran and Pakistan before reaching our Goa, India. The book is a daily diary, describing our journeys around these countries; the highs, the lows, the places visited and the experiences encountered. It is illustrated with photographs and includes contributions from the children, which provides different view points and insights; their words reproduced verbatim. The first chapter covers the months leading up to the start of the adventure. It details all the preparations and the headaches entailed in such an undertaking. Subsequent chapters include descriptions of each day's events and facts such as costs and mileages. A Post script addition in the paperback edition provides a brief update on all the family members as of 2017.

It was somewhat interesting but I felt bothered by the decision to take children on this trip when they really didn't seem to evince interest. The youngest was allowed to dictate her requirements - like refusing her malaria tablets - which could have been a killer
