This book dates back to 1981 and it is a smaller format covering the career of Peter Behrens, without going into too much detail on design or criticism of his works.

The book is fairly short and easy to read. It is heavily illustrated but most images are very small, or of poor quality, none are in color. Most projects are described but not analyzed in great detail.

It provides a good overview of his works and many are described or mentioned without sufficient photos to accompany the text which is always a disappointment. There are not many detailed critical books about Behrens in the US, however, there seems to be a number of European books written about him in recent decades.

Overall, a decent book to read/peruse, but not one most would want to have in an architect/designer's library.
