Once you lasso a cowboy, he's yours forever...
Hattie gate up her dreams to stay and run the family market after her parents' deaths. She's had a crush on Duke forever. His band is on a month long break, so he's back in Smuggler's Springs to help with issues relating to his family's ranch. This book continues part of the story that began in Rustling the Cowboy's Heart. The Ritchie family is still trying to find the "treasure" on the ranch, with some additional help from Hattie and Duke. Rex is still an idiot, trying to figure out how to confiscate the Ritchie Ranch. Duke gives us a little more history on his family, which is fascinating and adventurous. Hattie is sweet and kind, working so hard in the market, but frustrating in that she gives up on her faith and prayer. Duke was frustrating as well, when he can't seem to make up his mind. He wants Hattie forever, and says he's not afraid of what will happen with the band, then figures he can't give Hattie forever because of the band. Thank goodness for his momma's kick in the rear to knock some sense into him. The issues of the ranch treasure, and Rex's involvement, have not been completely resolved, setting us up for more in the series.
