This is an elegant book. Starts with a brief history, goes on to materials and tools and then starts from the most basic stitches and continues on to the most advanced. Each section has projects requiring the appropriate skills. Assembly and Care finish up the book with an Appendix that has a photographic Index of Stitches and Techniques, and a Table of included Projects. Colour ways are subdued and sophisticated. My only beef is that the projects are usually only given in one size.

I found the Ribbed Stitches section helpful. Good reference for tips and techniques. A few classic patterns.
