Paul Horgan was an American author of fiction and nonfiction, most of which was set in the Southwest. He received two Pulitzer Prizes for history.
The New York Times Review of Books said in 1989: "With the exception of Wallace Stegner, no living American has so distinguished himself in both fiction and history."
I love all Paul Horgan Books. This one is set on the seashore at South Padre Island. It is a love story about people who choose to live on the beach, literally. I fantasized about living that kind of lifestyle, not worrying about household responsibilities and punching a time-clock. Would be nice, but not possible. Try it. You'll go there with these two characters. "Paul Horgan enrages his fellow academic colleagues by writing such excellent history books with evidences of human life in his pages." Bravo!
