Found this in our YA nonfiction section at the library. This would be very useful for a young adult starting college or upon graduating. Since I already have moved in to my new apartment, most of the information was stuff I've already figured out. However, if I'd read it beforehand, I definitely would have been more prepared!
Instead, the only new thing I learned was that I should probably throw the pasta sauce in my fridge away, because it goes bad pretty quickly.
This was a perfect addition to our home school economics class; giving actual useful information that was only briefly covered in one chapter of my daughter’s textbook.
So I feel like these books really talk down to the reader. I see these working really well in a life skills type class. While there is sometimes helpful information I don't think that any of my students will pick this up without prompting from someone else. My students all think that they can learn this, or know this already and would never be seen with a book like these.
