It would never happen - or so we think - but is it really that unlikely?
We live in a world where Netflix makes lavish dramas about the current royal family, whilst Prince Harry and Meghan continue to indulge us with tell-all interviews, articles, upcoming biographies and documentaries.
So what if Oprah gave Kate and William the opportunity to tell their sides of the story and - against all the odds - they agreed?
This is the fictional transcripts of that unlikely, yet highly believable, event.
This is a short book written tongue in cheek and totally fiction. It is Oprah's interview with The Prince and Princess of Wales and the author's view of what might be said should an interview with Oprah ever occur, which of course it won't. It was a freebie and I needed a short read and it sort of intrigued me. If you have no interest at all in the British Royal family this work of fiction would not entertain you.

The Royal Riposte is a work of fiction, written by an Oxbridge-educated, best-selling author under a pseudonym.
The Royal Riposte: What If William and Kate Shared Their Truths With Oprah by Kitty Wandsworth is a transcript of an interview that’s unlikely to happen. The best seller author under a pseudonym has penned this fictional interview of William and Kate with Oprah. This is a short read yet a powerful one. It’s so hard to disassociate as not an actual one because it’s very well written. The context is in terms of their side of the story and what might have been going on. I have been following the disruption going on and it’s very unfortunate to say the least. Although it’s fictitious it’s refreshing to read what could have been if William and Kate interviewed. I wish all of them peace and hope they find a common ground to preserve their relations among family.
This best-selling author has created an imaginative and original work of fiction that, I must say, captivated me as soon as I started reading it. The Royal Riposte written by Kitty Wandsworth, a pseudonym, presents the transcript of an interview by Oprah Winfrey to the Prince and the Princess of Wales. In this interview, William and Kate express their side of the story as an answer to the interview Prince Harry and Megan Markle gave to the famous journalist. This is a short and very entertaining book. I like how the author described different situations that may well have happened. I recommend it to all those who are interested in the Royal family and in the latest news.
“The Royal Riposte” is quite an original, unique and absorbing read about a fictional interview addressed to William and Kate. My only concern is whether the reader can differentiate the facts detailed here with the ones around the Royal Family and not confuse them. As regards the writing style, it’s well developed and compelling. The dialogues are short and very easy to follow; the vocabulary used was the correct one taking into account the transcript format. The short extent is just the right one; a longer book would have been tedious and boring. To conclude, this book was a great add to my collection and an excellent choice to kill time.
When I saw this book, I automatically thought of more than one TV series and movies about royal family dramas. If you like these kinds of stories, you should add this book to your collection. The Royal Riposte: What If William and Kate Shared Their Truths With Oprah? by Kitty Wandsworth is the transcript of a fictional interview that never took place. It is important to note and remember that this book is fiction because it is compellingly written, not just because of the format, but because of the content itself, the responses and thoughts seem real. I must say that while reading it, at times, I completely forgot about it. It was funny and entertaining.
Interesting to get a British POV on Megxit. It’s an imagining of what Will and Kate would say to Oprah if they had a chance to sit down with her and discuss her interview with Harry and Meghan. Some fair points were made, but the bias was definitely slanted in the direction of Will and Kate. I did find interesting “Will”’s reaction to the discussion of the racism of Camilla’s a senior royals comments about the potential appearance of Harry and Meghan’s baby. It was a strong reaction, if that had been the late Queen’s response, I think Harry and Meghan might still be in Great Britain today.
