WATERCOLOUR PAINTING A PRAGMATIC APPROACH

Rate this book
Of all the media that one can paint with watercolour is probably the trickiest. That said one can develop methods and techniques which offer a safe passage through the difficulties of watercolour painting. Watercolour is often the medium that folk starting out choose to begin with. I have said to countless classes that oil paint is by far the most forgiving medium – the reason being that you can recover from mistakes quite easily. Watercolour however cannot be described as a forgiving medium. So we have to learn to work smart.

I have taught a huge number of painting workshops and seen first hand where many of the difficulties with watercolour arise. Of course I have made lots and lots of mistakes myself and followed blind alleys over the years. So this book is designed to save you time and frustration.

The book is full of illustrations and the three chapters of demonstrations have step by step photos showing the whole process as well as notes on what’s going on at each stage and the colour mixes used.
