Easy-to-follow textbook that explains the process of designing and implementing a BI solution using SQL Server and Visual Studio. Lots of screenshots, and chapter exercises with clear instructions.

This book of Randal will get you started with SSIS, SSAS and SSRS in no time! Depending on your level of experience, you will be running a simple, yet full ETL, OLAP and reporting service within a day to week. More concretely, you will learn how to tackle a BI project, which steps you have to follow, how to identify data sources, bring them together (SSIS) and make them available for analysis (SSAS and SSRS).

Mind that this book is mostly technology-focused. This means you will learn to use Microsoft ETL and OLAP tools. It will not provide you with the necessary insights and skills to successfully deliver a BI project. For that purpose, there are other books out there (e.g. Kimballs book on datawarehousing).
