This book is one I had owned, lended out and lost and now has happily purchased again. This book is jammed pack with information and very entertaining. If you are interested at all in the history of Deadwood, it is a great book to read. I first went to Mt. Moriah cemetery in 1992 when I was a 25 year old woman headed to Minnesota for a move that would forever alter my life. I was caught up in the history of the area and the unique energy that it has.

Reading this book brought to life the history and those who founded this area and left their mark forever on the landscape. Over the years I have visited about seven times in total. Every time I find something new about this place so full of its past and so alive in the moment.

This past week I was able to go again with my family and good friends. When I came upon this book in Wall Drug I bought it as I knew it was hard to come by. If you can find a copy and you are planning on going for a visit, I suggest you buy it and read it before going or while there. You won't regret it.

Rather a fun read if one is going to visit the Black Hills of SD. Lost of historical tidbits and interesting little stories. If you plan to walk the Mount Moriah route this would be a must read. Writing is pretty good and there are lots of pictures.

This was an informative read on the outlaw period of the deadwood era.
