A very profound and insightful collection. Of course I haven't read every single one of those 9000 pages, but I did read a lot of it back as a child when I was obsessed with animals from all over the world. Those living in the South American and Southeast Asian jungles were the ones I loved reading about the most.
This is an excellent book to learn about animals on a higher level. It has a bit of a European emphasis since Dr. Grimek was from there. The illustrations are excellent. I am thankful my parents had faith in me to order this expensive set of books, which came in the mail one at a time. I use this as a reference when called upon. When we see a new animal we open this up.
