This two-volume work presents an anthology of the articles that appeared in the Florentine newspaper "La Nazione del Popolo." The paper's run began on the day of Florence's 1944 liberation, and featured contributions by eminent politicians, union leaders, university professors and literary figures. Writers discussed the forms and characteristics of the new state and economy, and this publication allows the public to witness an important moment in contemporary Italian history, and most notably the Tuscan contribution to the Italian republic.
