What a delightful, uplifting story that brought many smiles! Set in the late 1800s in Kansas and the Oklahoma Territory, this book spans a time period of 10 years. It centers around Addison Campbell, a young single “mother” of an abandoned baby, and Reed Logan, a Scottish immigrant and would-be settler. It is not your typical mail-order bride story! The characters are well-crafted and lovable. The plot flows smoothly at a steady pace with a few surprises along the way. Thanks to Ms. Prysock’s excellent storytelling talent and vivid detailed descriptions, I could feel the excitement and chaos of the historic Oklahoma Land Rush of 1889. I could also feel the joy and anticipation of her characters as they claimed their land and “grew” their homestead and family. I especially appreciate the wonderful, strong faith element that permeates the story. If you are looking for a sweet, quick read filled with history, adventure, and inspiration, this one is for you!

Lisa Prysock has written another delightful historical Christian romance. With a major plot twist almost at the beginning of the book, the reader will want to read it to the end! Great story, characters and scenery!

Ms Prysock does it again! You pick this story up and your right in the train with Addie and Patrick. Then caught up in a wagon train, and scooped up in the Oklahoma Land Rush! Making new friends along the way, and mostly celebrating God and His wonderful blessings! Even at one point in the story you realize an old spinster doesn’t like to be the way she is and Addie reminds her of Gods love and what He wants from each of us. She reminded her that she loved God but did she really turn her life over to Him, and live the way He would want her to. To let His love shine through her. Changing her life through that conversation.
Ms Prysock has a talent for writing stories that touch your heart, and touch your spiritual live as well.
Come and enter into the world of Addie and her Scottish husband and neighbors. As you learn some Scottish words and foods. Leaving your chair/bed ( wherever your reading place is) and joining them around a camp fire…
I’m the back of this story there is a dictionary for the Scottish words that are used. Also there are book club questions that you can share with your friends

When the train stopped Bexley Dellwood gave Addie her trunks, her son, and went back home to Boston ,where she had left the man she loved. She told Addie to go ahead and met Mr. Logan to become his mail order bride. Then Baxley left and went on her way. Should Addison take the baby and herself to meet Mr. Logan? Would he want to marry her? Would he accept baby Patrick? Read this charming story about the happenings to Addison, Patrick, and Mr. Logan. It is an exciting story about the Oklahoma land rush. A very moving story written with faith and quotes listed at the beginning of each chapter. I so enjoyed them. It makes you imagine what the struggle to acquire your own land meant and how these pioneers made new towns. I really enjoyed the story. I received this book as a gift and all words are strictly my own. A must read.

So, Addy, stepped in to fill her shoes, and Reed Logan, the Scotsman she was to wed was dazzled by her red hair and blue eyes! He didn’t complain about the bairn that he’d had no knowledge of from Bexley, the original bride to be! He just took him in and loved him as his own. This was one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. It was right up my alley, I would say, and I’m sure it will be a perfect read for you, too! I could just squeeze Lisa for writing such an awesome book!! I LOVED it!! Please buy this book! There is so much great storytelling in it that you won’t want to put it down until you finish reading it!! 🙏♥️

Addison Campbell gets more than she bargains for as a nanny for a Boston socialite on the way to the West. She arrives in the West caring for a baby that isn't hers when the mother abandons him to go back to Boston. She finds herself wondering if Reed will marry her instead and become a family to raise baby Patrick. Reed Logan is a sweet Scottish man who has come to the West to try and stake claim to parts of the land in Oklahoma. This was such a sweet and touching story rich with history, faith and of course romance!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Addy really wants to leave her home town and the opportunity arises when she is asked to accompany Miss Dellwood on her trip west. But all is not what it seems. This story shows how God can work in your life, if you allow him. The story is well written and the characters are wonderful. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian romance. And not only is the story really good, I actually learned something about the Oklahoma Land Rush.

Great story
Fear, hope, love, joy and contentment were all present in this unabashedly Christian story.
Addy is more capable than she realizes. Her experiences caring for her younger siblings and assisting in the family home have well prepared her for the challenges she faces as a new wife, mother, and homemaker on the prairie.

From a nurse maid to a wife.
A clean western romance about a girl who was hired as a nanny to a woman with a baby who is headed west as a mail order bride. Unfortunately, she gets cold feet since she loves someone else, but it is not his baby so she leaves the baby with the navy and and takes off. What's a navy to do but carry on?

Exciting and Adventurous
Well this was worth the wait to read! I so enjoyed it and felt right along with them on the wagon train! Such heartbreaking decisions and finding faith in the Lord! This story truly touched my heart with such love and faithfulness! Incredible characters and storylines! Truly worth reading this story in this series!

Addison's Adventure has amazing characters and just enough twists to keep you turning the pages without becoming unrealistic. This is a beautiful story of faith, friendship, and following God's plan, even when it is completely unexpected.

This is a good, inspirational, historical romance with the time period of the Oklahoma land grant. I do like covered wagon stories and liked this could stand alone in this series. The characters are interesting and really helped to keep me reading.

A sweet faith filled story showing the better side of human nature. I’ve enjoyed all the stories in this series and this one fulfilled my expectations. How easily Reed accepted Addison’s story of how she ended up with Patrick. That wasn’t a given for this time period and I hate to say it, among churchgoers of the time. I enjoyed this book.

This is a beautiful story that truly exemplifies the statement "when life hands you lemons, make lemonade". It is a story of friendship, faith, twists and turns, God's guidance and romance. This is Addison ("Addy") and Reed's story. Addy accepted a position to be a maid, companion and nanny to a rich Boston socialite who was heading to Oklahoma to become a mail order bride. Reed was a Scottish immigrant who had traveled to Oklahoma to participate in the Land Rush. Addy's employer abandoned her baby by leaving it with Addy and heading back to Boston. Addy had a dilemma!! Will Reed accept her as his mail order bride and will he accept the baby? Read this outstanding inspirational story full of very interesting history to find out. I know you will enjoy it as much as I did; it's a real page turner.
