Dissatisfied with his chosen career, Richard quit his job to embark on a 2000 mile bike ride through Eastern Europe. He still isn’t sure why he did it, but it seemed to make sense at the time. Travelling through eight different countries, none of whose languages he speaks, it becomes all too obvious that Richard has too much gear and no real idea about bikes. Fortunately, the people he meets along the way help him towards his destination. As he pedals, he learns more about the region’s history and culture and has to accept that in cycling, like in life, you can’t always stick to a plan. What looks like a wrong turn may in fact lead to new opportunities.
