Bernard Scott is not very well known at all. If not for a chance blurb reading, I would not have known of Scott either.

Deadly Sister Love is a beautifully twisted and tragically brutal telling of a man's life. From the torture he endures at the hands of his step-father as a child to his twisted obsession for his sister's safety as an adult, this novel continues to offend you, make you weep, and make you hate the main character and everything he stands for. But somehow you're always drawn back in to his twisted little games.

As the reader watches the main character grow into a manipulative murderer, they are struck by how evil the human brain can be. Everything the main character does, he does for a reason; a higher truth, something more. And, as a mere viewer of the escapades, you begin to agree with him and his thought-processes.

Without giving too much away, this novel explores the human psyche (with an interesting writing style!) and delves into the depths of an evil we cannot begin to fathom.

Highly recommended read!!

Only remembered this book now when I'm writing my personal statement (for Psychology undergrad). Had read it almost 3 years ago. The book deals with crime- shows psychological factors (including Oedipus Complex), abusive childhood and its effect. I found it both creepy and interesting.
