When a personal assistant’s perfect life is shattered by a forty-year-old secret, will she be able to pick up the pieces and resurrect her world? Recalling the past is the only way to repair the future… For Sub Rosa personal assistant, Eden Freberg, kissing men is like making out with a mannequin—cold, lifeless, disconnected. That is, until she meets alluring geneticist Rick Hartman. From their first touch, they connect like long lost lovers, fitting together like missing pieces of a puzzle. Eden is on an express train to beyond-this-world bliss—married, and with twins in less than a year—until Rick derails their perfect life, revealing corruption at the heart of Sub Rosa. The transnational corporation plans to wipe the Jade and Violet vampire clans from existence, even though they pose no significant threat to humans. And Rick’s determined to make things right. But that’s not the only problem. On their journey of discovery, Eden and Rick unearth a forty-year-old secret that shatters their identities and threatens their lives. Will their pasts catch up to them before Rick has a chance to gain retribution?
Sandra Carmel is a bestselling Australian author of racy, flirty and downright dirty romance novels, novellas, short stories and poetry, who enjoys stimulating herself and others with words. An obsession with Jane Eyre, and her infatuation with Mr Rochester, were key motivators in commencing her romance writing journey. So far, she has taken the scenic route from steamy paranormal to sci-fi to contemporary, creating provocative stories that delve beneath the surface of desire. She reads and writes a lot, frequently disrupted by her ever-attentive, cheeky cats, and sinfully amorous array of book boyfriends.

Discover is the second book in The Cure series. We learn more about Rick and Eden's characters and their growth as a couple. The story is well written, with drama, intrigue, and a secret being revealed that could change everything for them or even destroy them. I cannot wait for the next story in this interesting series.
Eden and Rick must make the most of their lives; they discover they are older than they think, and their memories are not their own. If they are discovered Eden and Rick will be captured and killed, if not sent for testing. Another great read, by the talented author Sandra Carmel. Discover – Recommend and add it to your TBR list.
This book was filled with intrigue and drama. The characters were strong. It was such a unique story line and so interesting that I could not put it down and now I can not wait for the next one!!

I raced through Discover, book 2 of The Cure trilogy. I couldn't put it down. Again, Sandra successfully interwove subplots throughout the story to create extra depth. I can't wait to see what happens in book 3!
From the beginning of this story I was drawn in. I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters and found them well written. I definitely recommend reading this book.

This was a wonderful book. It didn't seem rushed. This was sweet and steamy, full of romance and passion with great characters that were interesting enough to draw you.
If you enjoy a book where there are stories/mysteries wrapped in other stories/mysteries, this might be the perfect book for you. There were so many layers to this book, which had great writing within them, but all together I found the layers difficult for me to follow what was going on. In the present we have Eden and Rick who are attracted to each other and act on that attraction and within just a few days of getting to know each other, are engaged. In the past we have the origin of the Jade and Violet vampire clans, and throughout we have Hugh, a vampire from the Violet clan. All stories seem to be reaching toward a climax together, but I felt confused the entire time, or as if each time the story changed viewpoints, I was pulled from the story and not in a good way. I wanted to be immersed the entire time. Although there is good writing here and I usually enjoy suspense in romance, whether it is paranormal or contemporary or military, but I was more confused than entertained throughout this entire novel.
