I survived prison. I survived my murderous family...
But my biggest challenge is yet to come, and my nine lives are running out.
Once, I was a private investigator, and solving crimes was my biggest challenge. Now I’m number three on the FBI’s Most Wanted List, and trying to stay out of prison long enough to save the world.
Along with Gabriel Vanguard—billionaire-turned-do-gooder—and a rag-tag group of rogue Elementals, we’re humanity's last hope before the Surge ends civilization as we know it. But our enemies are closing in, and our time is running out.
We might be a bunch of miscreants, but we’re all the world’s got.
~This is the third book in the Shelton Family Legacy, and completes the series.~
Fueled by black coffee, ice cream and bad nineties music, L.A. McGinnis spends her days writing best-selling steamy fantasies filled with damaged heroes who long to be whole and smart, authentic heroines. A life-long fascination with storytelling inspired her to weave these contemporary tales of legendary fated mates where the princess never needs rescuing, but sometimes the hero does.
This book irradiated my Kindle and gave it super powers!
Oh my supernovas! And solar flares! I love this story, which is the third and last in this kick-ass series. Still a boatload of fast-paced action, plot twists, and scorching hot romance. This female main character, Andy, is kind of a super hero, as well as very human.
She just can't stay out of trouble, and her big heart is to blame. Her friends and her main squeeze are also Elementals, and some of the characters' back stories are revealed. I especially liked how Andy gets to know a certain someone better, and his dog. I think all my questions from the previous books have been answered.
There's also a satisfying climax - or two! I enjoyed seeing Andy take down her enemies, trying to save the world, and getting the group back together. I am a little sad from how it ended, but there's a happy ending for almost every one of the good (or morally gray) guys.
Still a lot of typos, but nothing too distracting.
What’s a cataclysmic ending to the world between friends? In the final installment of the Shelton Family Legacy series, L. A. McGinnis doesn’t spare the adrenaline rushes as Andy and Gabriel, along with the crew of elementals working with them, try to help the world survive the second surge while simultaneously purging it of the bad guys. As in all of McGinnis’s books, the climax is very satisfying though his one has a tinge of heartbreak. McGinnis has been, and continues to be my top go to author and this book is a demonstration as to why. Great read!
Fantasic conclusion to a riveting series. Exciting, action packed, magic, steamy, unexpected twists in the plot that made it difficust to put this book down, and a happily ever after. Fascinating, and well written characters who face a powerful enemy and survive to save the world from disaster. I thing this is a must rread book, and series. I highly recommend it.
