I thought the author seemed very well informed and insightful but I just couldn’t get past the lack of proper grammar and the awkward and confusing English. Either it was written in another language and poorly translated, or was written in English by someone who is not fluent. A particularly mangled passage:
”At the very first serious failure in life – dismissal, disagreement with a partner – you do not need to take care of the fragile crystal of your beauty more - anyway “chef everything is gone, gone! ”. What are you doing? Right, enter into an unnatural relationship with a busy group of cakes.”
Most of it wasn’t this weird, but it was awkward and jarring, and I just couldn’t get through 100+ pages. It’s a shame because the author’s credentials and knowledge would probably have made this a good book, if it had been properly edited. Or maybe they don’t actually have a clue, it’s hard to be sure.
This book will help you ditch diets and start loving and respecting your body for once. We are marvellous creatures and we are too hard on ourselves and physical appearance. Ditch to diets and start living!
I struggle with food guilt and labeling food as good or bad, on top of never feeling like I know what to eat because I'm trying to always make the best choice when it comes to feeding myself--and it all feels very stressful. This gave me some insight. Not all of the chapters were filled with aha moments because it hits on various aspects of struggles, but it gave me enough tools to highly recommend this book.
And for all my mom folk who struggle with picky eaters or if their kid is eating right, etc. There's a whole section in here dedicated to you. I feel like my mom friends are always worried about how their kids are eating so I thought I'd mention this part of the book too in case you're looking for some nonjudgmental advice.
