About the author

Even as a child, Sharon created worlds where life might pose challenges but where unlikely heroes wielded magic for the good of all. In the end, ordinary people won the battle against darkness.

She did grown up things like graduate high school and college, get married and have kids. But she never strayed too far from the door into the mystical realms of story.

Once she had children of her own, they traveled to Narnia with her. She made it her goal to introduce them to her old friends. With them, she made new friends at Hogwarts and rode dragons with Eragon. Together they embraced the joy found on the other side of the magical portal: reading.

Sharon sings stories and weaves spells to transport others to that fantastical place where the weak are heroes. A land where quest completion requires strong character, not a mighty sword arm. Sharon believes three things: Magic is mystery; Hope offers the greatest help; and Success comes to those who refuse to give up a dream.

Love’s Texas Homecoming by Sharon Hughson is a First Street Church Mini. Jaz Rolle has returned home to Sweet Grove, Texas after serving her country and is now applying for positions in Austin. It is hard for her to stay in town with her overbearing father and the memories of deceased brother, Drew. Bailey Travers has not forgotten Jaz, but he knows that she will not linger in town long. His foster father, Fritz is dying, and Bailey is worried what will happen to the ranch. Unfortunately, the Travers’ never officially adopted Bailey or his sister, Tess. Bailey consults with Jaz who worked as a paralegal with JAG. While the two work together, a relationship blooms between them. How can it work, though, when one needs to stay in Sweet Grove while the other cannot wait to leave? Love’s Texas Homecoming is a sweet romance with realistic characters in real life situations. The story moved along quickly with some very poignant moments (have tissue handy). Faith and the importance in believing in God are integrated into the story along with He has a plan for our lives. We sometimes forget to stop and pray before taking action. Love’s Texas Homecoming is a charming Christian romance with family drama, friendship, faith, grief and love.

A beautifully written collection of stories in Sweet Grove Texas where the people know everyone, they support and help each other and their faith and love for God is so very important in their lives. These stories will make you cry from the struggles they have gone through and will go through, the losses they have each had and to smile when they find the happiness and love they each want. For each trial they go through they will learn that with patience, love and God they can work together to make things right and to find the peace that they need. Very realistic and inspirational story. Both characters struggle with acceptance and self-worth. Through their many twists and turns of life challenges, they keep the faith. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author.
