Rate this book
All aboard the color train! Take a ride on a series of magical ribbons and end with a dramatic pop-up surprise! A remarkable, innovative format provides toddlers a thrilling ride, filled with dozens of point-and-say objects of all the primary and secondary colors. A cheerful engineer guides kids on a magical train whose cars appear amazingly one-by-one on every spread, then disappears into a long black tunnel, only to spring to life in a spectacular 3D finale. An ultra-sturdy binding, high-quality full-color printed ribbons, and an unexpected ending makes this the perfect example of a play-and-learn book. Ages 2 to 4.

The book is laced with black and white ribbons that each have a colored train car corresponding to the color of the items pictured on that page. As you open each new page, a new ribbon is revealed and that car lines up with the previous ribbon's car until you have a whole train. Near the end of the book the rainbow of colors is presented in a surprise turn that may appeal to both visual and kinetic learners.

The pages are challenging to turn for little ones. I find it is easiest to partially close the book between pages so the ribbons slide smoothly. However, between the bright colors and the novel presentation, my 2 y.o. and 3.5 y.o. children really enjoy this book.
