Cascading Style Sheets, Level 1: Specification

Rate this book
Style sheets describe how documents are presented on screens, in print, or even how they are pronounced when spoken using a computerized speech synthesizer. The specification for Cascading Style Sheets, Level 1, has been prepared by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), an independent and international standards body devoted to furthering the technologies used on the World Wide Web. The W3C has produced two recommendations (CSS1 and CSS2) which are widely, although not consistently, implemented in browsers, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator.By attaching style sheets to documents on the Web authors and readers can influence the presentation of documents without sacrificing device-independence or adding new HTML tags. This book contains the complete and most up-to-date version currently available of the CSS1 specification. It's designed to be handy desktop companion, saving you the time and expense of printing the documentation yourself. It is also useful when viewing the online version of the CSS1 specifications is inconvenient.
