I liked how this book talks about all financial concepts that everyone should know but I personally think that the vocabulary words used were for older children. You can’t understand the concepts or teach children those concepts unless you have studied economics at the university. I wish there could have been a section at the end of the page for new vocabulary words where the author can explain better most of the words used in the story but also give concrete examples. For instance, where she mentioned that « you can invest your money by buying bonds from the government », most kids will not understand what the government is because topics about the government are taught from 5th grade. However, for parents who want to enrich their children’s lives with new vocabulary words while talking about money; this is the perfect book for you.
Financial Literacy should be taught at all levels of education. This book is a great place to start. Kids could use the tips provided to earn and grow their money. Also the base lesson of what to do with your money. Schools should definitely have this in their library.
This is great for introducing the concept of investing to older kids. For sure they’ll still have tons of questions, but it’s a good way to open up the discussion between parent and child!
Fantastic story book to teach children about financial awareness and how to invest. It covers bonds, REITS, and the stock market. It talks about diversified funds but it doesn’t go too heavy into it. It introduces a basic idea for children.
Financial Literacy is a great skill for kids to have! Kids should learn the importance of saving and investing at a young age. This book helps teach that skill in a kid-friendly way.
