Mission to the Stars by Ted Iverson, is an epic journey into the future of the Bindl family and their pursuit to reach the speed of faster than light. Ted gives us the insight on surviving son’s who are suffering the great tragedy of losing one’s parents while perusing their dreams. Who is behind this murderous plot, and what do they want with the technology that the Bindl boys are trying to reclaim?
I found myself rooting for the Bindle boys as they worked their way through the perils of space, and the government that they were being chased by. Ted’s got a good handle on a story that has unlimited possibilities in future books. His outlook and creativity makes the reader fall into place wanting to help the heroes, and cringe when they fall short. I highly recommend this novel to any fan of science fiction.

The Search for FTL is an ambitious novel, covering a lot of ground. In the beginning, a husband and wife team attempt to travel `Faster Than Light,' when something goes terribly wrong and the craft is destroyed and they are both killed.
But, was this an accident, or sabotage? That is what the couple's four sons try to figure out as they take over the company and continue the search for FTL. Along the way, they encounter corrupt government officials and people who are out to kill them all and destroy the company. They also find friends of their parents who are willing to help, along with some amazing technology that is at their service.
Part murder mystery, part political thriller and a lot of hard sci-fi make Mission to the Stars; The Search for FTL an interesting read.

Ted Iverson has created what is a great read. It holds your interest, it is very well written, and considering the genre of this book, I would not be surprised to see it achieve cult status.
The storyline did not seem like it started fast, yet it must have as things become interesting and intense within the first fifteen pages. I do know my reading pace increased as I had to find out the ending. It has a great mixture of futuristic writing as well as character building. The inventions stretched your imagination as far as what could be possible and yet still stayed plausible at the same time. The characters are developed so well that while reading you can’t help but to create a bond with them and cheer them on during their search for FTL. You learn at the beginning all their differences and then how tragedy brings all the Bindl brothers together. It was very interesting to experience the different reactions to the same news. Then, throughout the story, you would get one perspective talking on the phone, and then the very next chapter see that the other end of the phone line had a completely different take on the news and the call.
The breadth of the story is what really kept my attention. It is so vast and vivid. The story covers millions of miles, yet still allows you to sense every situation, and see very color and detail crystal clear all the way down to the smallest Nano device.
Highly recommended reading.
