Not only did Monica go back to the desert, but the group of four friends reunited with those of their nomadic partners.
Then, then ran a guerilla war with the invading army. With the knowledge of the desert, it wasn't hard to know who got the upper hand.
Their efforts were world news, but they also solved another problem, so that their Sea of Tranquillity plans could go ahead, without causing ill effects on the nomadic tribes.
