"Financial Affairs of The Common Man" by Anil Lamba provides a comprehensive guide to personal finance, aimed at empowering everyday individuals with essential money management skills. Lamba's approachable writing style simplifies complex financial concepts, making them accessible to readers with varying levels of financial literacy. The book covers key topics such as budgeting, investing, tax planning, and retirement, offering practical insights and actionable advice. I particularly found the rule of 72 insightful. Some readers may find the content targetted at only an Indian audience, limiting its universal acceptance or applicability. Nevertheless, the book's emphasis on practicality and its attempt to demystify financial jargon make it a valuable starting point for those seeking to enhance their financial acumen. Readers looking for more advanced or globally relevant insights will definitely need to supplement this book with additional resources.

Must read for New age earners

If you're a new age earner and are looking for different ways of streamlining your financial portfolio, this is a great start. However the right time to read this book is spending a year making your own money decisions, making mistakes and then reading this. Although most of the concepts discussed are basic, the book covers diverse concepts on personal finance. There are many chapters in this book that I always would like to revise from time to time. It's simple and a no nonsense beginner guide towards financial intelligence.

Good book got someone new to personal finance. It covers most of the basics well. The style is the book could have been better, as my expectations were higher after reading Romancing the Balance Sheet but the same author.

A simple and concise explanation on how to handle your finances and plan them effectively. Its kind of a starter book on what are all different financial instruments you have and how to plan your financial affairs including the taxes. What's really good is it's not too heavy on financial vocabulary and is easy to understand.
