Growing Pains

A modern day tale of a teenage girl named Tonia Butler who is being raised by her grandmothr after beig abandoned by her father and the death of her mother. Tonia faces circumstances, such as an abortion, and finds out how alone and confusing life becomes. With the lack of emotional balance, and reservation from her family, Tonia holds tight for the domino effect of situations made after numbing her pain with drugs. This novel is an interesting read as the grandmother, aunt, and male companion share in conveying how Tonia's mishaps bring about their own secrets.
