Trouble Undone

Rate this book
Three different men try to tame Kelsey. Only one makes her come undone. Kelsey Fisher refuses to mask the qualities that make her successful. Is she competitive? All day long. Aggressive? Sure, when she needs to be. Impatient? Ask the guy she just passed on the highway - he’s probably still coughing on the dust left by her wake. She’s hard to take, but Kels can’t compromise. As an owner of Venture, an outdoor guiding business, she needs those qualities to face the challenge of a remote mountain trail or a run on a class-five river. Yet, there a times when she needs to unplug and go way off grid. Only one man understands her softer side – the surfer she crosses paths with on the Oregon Coast. He’s uncomplicated, gorgeous, effortless. Unfortunately, Mark’s destined to follow the waves and move on.

Kelsey is competitive and aggressive no man can tame her . Owning an outfitting , guiding company she has to be tough to keep her clients safe . There are times when she needs to unwind, unplug and just get off the grid . There is only one man that knows her softer side she can't keep her mind off of him but Mark has a destiny to follow the waves .

Mark and Kelsy's story is a hard story , they go through so much . Kelsey is a feisty .sassy woman . She is out going and fun . There is more to her , there is a hurt there in her heart . She is stronger then most people think she is and after her accident we see her fight even harder to get back what she has lost. Mark is an easy going surfer who just wants to hang out and hit the waves. He is a sweet guy but sometimes he does come off just a little bit shallow. When he is with Kelsey things seem to change in both of them. Now there is Parker , she is a crafty one that woman . You really can't trust her at all . She just seems to want to hurt everyone around her.

I honestly think that this book is the one that the author has poured all her angst into . The characters are very well written and complex . There are moments you want to wrap the characters up in blankets and hug them tight . Their story is very complex and there are moments that you will cry and laugh and there are moments when you think of what you would do in the situation they are in . The author takes us on a very emotional roller coaster ride in this final book . This book shows us about family and true friends and what they will do to help you out . This is a great book and I think the whole series should be on your tbr list for this fall . Check them out .

Kelsey Fisher has made a successful career at Sister Venture by being competitive, fierce, and never backing down from a challenge. She doesn't have time to tie herself to a man who would ask her to change who she is nor if he asked her to give him more time than she was willing. So her "get togethers" with Mark work out perfect for Kelsey.

Mark isn't somebody who ties himself down to an area for long. As a surfer he goes wherever the waves take him and doesn't tie himself down to any relationship. Both Kelsey and Mark are kindred spirits, but after years together feelings can't help but get involved.

But when an accident forces Kelsey to rely on others for help and reevaluate her life's goals she'll have to decide if settling down inside a cage that Ben would force upon her is some place she could see herself or will she stick with Mark who understands her need for freedom and space.

With each book of these I read I get a bit more invested in the characters and their relationships. What I actually find interesting with Kinney Scott's books is she doesn't always take the characters in a direction the reader may think she is. Past relationships in the books and hook-ups don't always go anywhere beyond the previous book and I'm always left guessing if so and so will end up together.

I have read each book in this series and loved them all! The complexity of the characters, the small town hominess, and the emotions evoked by the stories are stellar.I
This is Kelsey's story. She is a tough cookie who co-owns an outdoor adventure company. Mountain climbing, white water rafting, and hiking in the mountains are her everyday job. For down time she heads to the coast to surf which is where she first met Mark. They have a casual relationship at first. Kelsey is dramatically injured on a rafting excursion and ends up in a coma and then has to heal from her physical injuries while dealing with memory issues from her brain injury. Her friend Ben lives near the therapy center and she temporarily moves in with him. Ben has been in love with her for a long time and takes this time to build a relationship with her. He messes up badly and she moves back to Ashwood. Mark hears about her accident and finds her there. He is determined to be there for her so they can have their HEA. It takes a lot of patience and understanding but they do finally get togethet.

Complex - Kept me guessing who Kels will end up with. Is it Mark who she had an on and off non-relationship with for the past couple of years? Is it Ben who has been quietly pining for her before and after the tragedy? Or is it the new guy Bradley who quickly became enamored with her? This is an emotional book that depicts the love of family and true friends for a fiercely independent woman who will only accept help at her own pace. The interpersonal relationships among the characters feel realistic and show complex emotions. Reading the book feels like you’re looking into real people’s lives. It is wonderfully-written and thoughtfully-plotted which is typical of a Kinney Scott book. Read this and it will pull you in. You will not be disappointed. [I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]

Note to Author: I don’t like Parker. I hope you’re not writing a book about her. What do you have planned for Kent and Amanda?

This is book five in the Ashwood series and although each book is their own, I highly recommend the series. You will love the town of Ashwood and the interesting folks that live there, pass through and even the ones that stay. This is Kelsey's story. This girl is a tough cookie as her business is a wilderness guide. Not only that but she is well aware of her own self and how challenging she can be. But Kelsey, like everyone else is looking for that special someone that can take all she is and be stronger so that she can let it all go. Mark is passing through as he came to Ashwood for the waves. This is not a perment stop for him, at least it wasn't until he meets Kelsey. Can these two reach a HEA? There are a few twists to be had to challenge our characters but are they meant for success or will the fail? Another really enjoyable read in the series!

Riding the waves of romance in this book makes for a steamy adventure. The story is outdoorsy and entertaining with some bonus drama as you embark on a journey of self-discovery and romance. The love scenes are 🔥🔥🔥  full of passion and pleasure. "Trouble Undone" was just fun in so many ways and approached some heavy topics in a light way. The writing style as a whole maintained the beachy ease of the protagonist as she guided us through the rocky waters of her life.

The book is a standalone novel in a series, which occasionally made me feel like I was dropped into some situations with less background or detail than I would like. It also made it a bit difficult to follow the sheer volume of characters, but that doesn't really distract from the quality of writing. It is actually more of a compliment to the author that (being the fifth book in a series) I could follow it with ease as a standalone novel. I thoroughly enjoyed this beachy read.

Strong emotions bring two people together even though they didn't plan this from when they first met each other. Kelsey is strong willed, independent and in charge of her life changes her and but she must choose what she wants from life and who whom. If this is the last book in the series,(I hope not) Kinney Scott shows us how the changes in a person affects their life whether is't good, bad or unforgettable. To understand those in Ashwood, I suggest reading this series from the start to see how others are meeting the other. I won't tell you any more as of course reading brings the residents of Ashwood together to help one of their own. Plus those who come there at one time or another, how things can bring change in others and those around them

Riveting read

This review its not just for this book, it encompasses the entire series. The reader is drawn to the characters because they and their situations are based on reality more than the average story. Ms. Scott has the ability to tap into the insecurities many of us deal with daily, making it easy to identify with the characters. Her writing is detailed, but not so much that the reader has to surrender their imagination. I would recommend this series to anyone looking to be captivated by excellent storytelling.
My only disappointment was that there was no mention of upcoming books in the series.

The story of Mark, Ben and Kelsey is not an "easy" one. Along the way comes Ben, who has loved Kelsey for a long time. She sustains an injury and has some memory loss which complicates things further. Lots of emotions in this story and there are times when the reader is not sure who will make it to the finish line. No spoilers here so you will have to read to find out who gets that happy ending. Thoroughly enjoyed this story by an author that is new to me!

This is the 4th book I've read written by Kinney Scott; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I loved the chemistry between the characters.

I loved it! This felt so real-life to me.....friends, jobs, lives. Then you also had the liars, cheaters and mean girls. This was written so well I thought maybe the good guy wasn't going to get his HEA.

I need to read the other books now 😻

This book was gifted to me by the author in return for an honest review.

This story hit closer to home than I was prepared for.

In my life I have reached moments that forever changed me. Many took time to surpass. Much was personal and difficult to explain. Especially to those with preconceived notations of me. There are times we must accept and grow into who we are now. It's never easy. Worth the struggle to become the new us though.

Romance With a Literary Feel

This is a romance with a very literary feel. A lot of poetic lines and descriptions. Overall a very interesting read.
