Summary :
The Jules-Verne is sent to the far reaches of the prepossessing Gayan Alliance for a long-term mission…that could bring a final victory over a rival race, the Chhhatyls.
Through the eyes of Armelle, a shy Martian with brittle bones, we follow the Jules-Verne, an old Aries-class cruiser, lead by Anton Kurian, its irascible and alcoholic commander in disgrace. He is helped by Mari Jo Alfonso, the stormy second officer, The Weasel, a Supply and Maintenance officer who has a lot on his arms to keep the ship from disintegrating, and Dr.Édéril, a comfortable medical officer who lost his son at the Blockade… linked to Kurian's disgrace And of course, don't forget Félixia, the Aries Brain, in charge of the three "C" (computing, communication, checking).

À travers les yeux d’Armelle, une Martienne timide aux os délicats, on suit les voyages du Jules-Verne, un Bélier de combat bon pour la refonte, mené par Anton Kurian, un incompétent colérique, Mari Jo Alfonso, un second renfrogné, Le Fouineur, un officier d’entretien futé qui se démène pour empêcher le vaisseau de se désagréger, ainsi que le Dr.Édéril, médecin débonnaire qui aura fort à faire. Sur tout ce petit monde veille jalousement Félixia, le Cerveau du Bélier, une véritable mère-poule.
