Was glad to have this guide, if simply to guide some of the context and wording...his older brother was not a prostitute in Hollywood, but rather a writer in Hollywood in the movie industry and therefore less authentic or a true writer....quick read but helped to explain some of the controversy and interest in this classic as well as the author.

Not what I expected, a review of Salinger's biography and chapter by chapter summary of the novel. I wanted more of a debate or analysis of the classic work from multiple viewpoints.
