Uncle John’s dedicated team of quotationeers have scoured the worlds of entertainment, history, literature, politics, sports, and more to bring you this unique collection of utterances that bear repeating. From silly to profound, from Aristotle to Mr. T, you’ll discover insights on such topics as love, sex, conspiracies, boredom, cheese, juggling, and the true meaning of belly-button lint. Here are but a few of the thousands of morsels awaiting you:
“Remember when life’s path is steep to keep your mind even.” --Horace “In America, sex is an obsession. In other parts of the world, it’s a fact.” --Marlene Dietrich “With my sunglasses on, I’m Jack Nicholson. Without them, I’m fat and sixty.” --Jack Nicholson “It is no coincidence that in no known language does the phrase ‘as pretty as an airport’ appear.” --Douglas Adams “I don’t like spinach, and I’m glad I don’t, because if I liked it I’d eat it, and I just hate it.” --Clarence Darrow “If it’s called USA Today, why is all the news from yesterday? Bam! Busted!” --Stephen Colbert “Never go to bed mad. Stay up and fight.” --Phyllis Diller
A wonderful collection of quotes by some of the smartest folks from all walks of life. From Lao Tzu to George Carlin, Nelson Mandela to Shakespeare, you'll find them all here, spouting wisdom on all topics under the sun - some thought-provoking, some witty, many hilarious, and all of them interesting.
This book is amazing in it's entirety. If you are ever in need of inspiration, or looking for some good quotes, this is your book. The strengths of this book are how diverse the quotes are and how many there are. You will probably never need another book for quotes, that is unless you are a quote fanatic and/or in need of older quotes. What makes this book great is also where it has faults. It does not have anything else but quotes, it just lists them. It also does not have a lot of older quotes, as mentioned before. Overall, I recommend this book to someone who is interested in what people have to say about life.
