Horrible book. A friend lent it to me as I was starting to learn the game of blackjack so that I can at least try to break even while playing (I've read 3 other bj books before this one). The basic strategy table(s) he has are just plain wrong! The author even says he deviates from "mathematically correct" blackjack because he feels it saves him...He gives examples on why you should not split A-A and 8-8, definition of stupidity. His math & logic are way off. Granted this book was written in 1996, leaders in the field had already run millions of computer simulations to determine correct basic strategy for how many decks and under what house rules.
His counting system is awful- a level 2, unbalanced count with a side count for aces. Way too difficult to learn when basic hi-lo will get you there. His regression betting systems are unproven mathematically- although he does say NEVER to use the Martingale system (double your bet if you lose) which is sound advice.
The only reason I give 1 stars is because he touches on things like discipline and money management & I can't give 0.
