Here are some words that the author of this book has had to fall back on time and again:
jaw-dropping
vast
luxurious
indulgent
Owners are quoted saying things like, "With the help of my curator..." and "We did not plan on buying a house of this size!" Me too. I did not plan on buying a 28,000 square foot building in Tribeca either. I continue to not plan to do so, unless some large corporation drops like a helicopter on my house and I get a truly jaw-dropping, vast, luxurious and indulgent settlement. Meanwhile, I will look at these pictures ALL DAY LONG.

The designs here are lavish, yet not as cluttered as your average Architectural Digest stuff. Modern, without looking ridiculous (except for that weird paper flower light fixture hanging over a bed.)
