Delightfully Fun Ninja Picture Book

This is such a fun picture book! The bulk of the book compares a ninja to various animals and insects, with pictures of a young boy dressed as a ninja acting them out… often in very silly ways. My favorite was when the ninja was compared to a raccoon that can find food without needing a light; the little boy page shows him opening the refrigerator in an otherwise dark kitchen! LOL! The story is told in rhyming verse, and the book has an end section to take a child step by step how to dress like a ninja. It also has a section showing the different ninja weapons and tools; it encourages the reader to go back through the book to find them. If you have a ninja-obsessed child or one who appreciates silliness, he or she may enjoy this book.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

Cute with activities

So, so cute! In this story, author Mark Bacera asks, “Do you want to be a Ninja?”
I can’t imagine an answer to the negative. Not only are we given some animals for good comparison, but there are some cute and funny illustrations in between.
We’re shown an obviously mid-training ninja, performing moves that my kids would try too. His complete focus and seriousness while he succeeds and struggles is very funny. All this topped off with steps at the end to make a ninja outfit and a picture search game, I can say that I really love this book!

This was so fun! I have a little boy who is so into ninjas and this book was just made for him. It lets you know of all the ways ninjas are like certain animals, like those that can camouflage or climb walls and be sneaky. This book was so perfect for my little ninja and at the end of the book was fun instructions about how to become a ninja. We enjoyed the story, the pictures and the fun little book scavenger hunt in the end. Highly recommend this cute book!

It is a very fun and nicely illustrated children's book that teaches kids what  a ninja can do, like hiding, jumping, climbing, running, and swimming. This book helps kids imagine and have fun at the same time.
I read it to my kids and they had a blast with it, after finishing it they started drawing the characters. The drawings are beautiful and what I like the most was the fact that this is a gender-neutral story, something that I believe is very important nowadays.

It is simple and funny. Also, it has beautiful images that tell the story perfectly. My little sister loved it! Although she doesn't know how to read yet, she really enjoys listening to me reading her and looking at the illustrations! I hope to get more books like this for her!

I think this may be one of my favourite children's books. “Do you want to be a Ninja'' not only has some adorable and very detailed illustrations making it very interesting to the little ones to observe and recognize, but it is also a very interactive book.

My niece loved other books by this author. But with this one in particular, she loved the part that helped the reader convert into a ninja and find some objects. It is a great way to spend some time reading and also exploring after it.
