You’re working for someone who will replace you in a heartbeat if you drop dead today. No matter how hard you work, it’s the same mundane your boss fails to recognize your value, and you can’t wait for the weekend to start. You’re not living the life you envisioned, but what choice do you have? You have bills to pay and a family to support. Is there any hope? This book is a version of Network. "I'm damn angry and I'm not going to take it anymore."

Basically, this book channels rage at the nightmares that are experienced at work. It is a book that expresses rage at 'the man' and the exploitations that exist at work.

That is OK. It is a one dimensional analysis, made worse because the points made in this book are read through the experiences of 'Gary' - a fictional guy with a dreadful boss and a miserable life.

Gary needs to get out more...

If you are angry and bitter at work, then you will find a mirror for your experiences in this book. But, in terms of career and life advice - you can do a lot better.

If you have ever had a job you didn't like, you will sympathize with this book. The author lays out the problems associated with working for a lousy boss or at a bad job. Then the author explains how to leave that job in a way that provides closure while moving you forward. The author uses the storytelling technique to explain all this through Gary, working for a lousy boss. I like the method as well as the points made by the author. It is an excellent book for someone in a bad work situation.
