A bit outdated by now, but i think one should be aware of the history of climbing. Anno 2019, we rely too much on gear, not enough on mindset. Nice pictures!!

Trying to take a wide view of climbing it quickly touches on everything from technique, to sport, history, materials, and testimonials. Overall the pictures and tutorials are interesting enough even for a non-climber such as myself (I only picked it up since my brother left it in my home by accident)and I feel I learned a thing or two. But since it tries to cover so much ground it feels rushed....anyway my two stars should be taken with huge grains of salt as this book is obviously not for me.

I've started climbing, and this book was a good introduction to the sport.
